Paparazzi restaurant brings to RP a 'taste of Italy'

Taking a culinary journey through Italy has never been this easy as Edsa Shangri-La hotel's Papparazzi restaurant treats its guests to a 5-month Italian feast.

In a special promo dubbed "All Roads Lead to Roma", the restaurant will be featuring authentic cuisine from a particular Italian region every month, from August to December this year.

This month, Paparazzi restaurant will be serving Sicilian specialties like fresh seafood dishes, polpetti (meatballs), and its savory pastries.

A sample Sicilian feast at Paparazzi includes Vegetarian rice balls with artichoke puree and Tartar of tuna and balsamic marinated eggplant for appetizers; followed by Catanese style fish soup with capers, black olives, and fresh tomato.

Main dishes include Bucatini (a thick spaghetti-like pasta) with anchovies, black olives, puréed artichokes, and cherry tomato; along with pan-seared tuna loin with capers, red onion, mint, and white wine. They also have artichoke-crusted lamb rack with potato cake, goat cheese ricotta canelloni (rectangular pasta sheets) and a red wine reduction sauce.

The Sicilian menu finishes up with Grappa (grape-based pomace brandy) infused with orange and coffee beans and Sicilian style pastry rolls with ricotta cheese & mixed candied fruit.

From August 1 to 31, Paparazzi restaurant will also feature many more delicious Sicilian dishes like Swordfish carpaccio (traditional thinly sliced or flattened meat appetizer) with salmoriglio sauce made with olive oil, lemon, garlic, and oregano; Spaghetti Al Tonno or spaghetti with fresh tuna, tomato, and basil.

They will also have fried squid with eggplant and zucchini tempura; and Cannoli Siciliani or stuffed pastry rolls with fresh cheese and mixed glazed fruit.
