Vilma Santos returns to television this Saturday on ABS-CBN

he first installment of Vilma: A Woman for All Seasons will finally be unveiled this Saturday, August 1. The first of its kind, Vilma Santos proudly stated that she took part in the brainstorming sessions for the TV specials that will showcase the reasons why she’s one of the country’s most successful stars of all time.

“I’m part of the idea. Two years nang nakaplano na bigyan ako ng special tribute pero hindi ako pumapayag kasi unang-una, kukunin yung tagal ko sa showbiz. Pangalawa, yung golden golden na sinasabi. Ayoko nga maging golden girl, 38 lang ako no!” she joked.

Hosted by Claudine Barretto, the focus of the first episode is Vilma Santos as an actress. Viewers are going to be treated to on-the-spot acting workshops with Kim Chiu, Coco Martin, Nikki Gil, and Megan Young. Though she was truly impressed with these up and coming young stars, the Star for All Seasons revealed that Claudine (whom she starred with in Anak) is the one who can follow in her footsteps when it comes to longevity in the biz. Gustong-gusto ko yung pagiging flexible niya—whether magpasexy, magpakamartir, or magkontrabida kapani-paniwala. Non-stop learning ang acting,” she stressed.

One of her favorite topics included her tried and tested onscreen chemistry with Christopher de Leon which also served as an example to those who soared to stardom through love teams. Ganun yung chemistry namin. Hindi mo kailangan magkaroon ng love angle [in real life]. And yet tanggap kami ni Boyet na kapag sa movies naniniwala yung tao na ganon kami ka-in love sa isa’t-isa.” She further told her young students the importance of teamwork in shooting scenes.

Catch all these and more as Vilma: A Woman for All Seasons premieres this Saturday, August 1, right after Maalaala Mo Kaya.
