Drei Felix wants to focus on work to get over his split from Jennilyn Mercado

Drei Felix finally broke his silence on his relationship with Jennilyn Mercado. He said that they were together for two years even when Jennilyn was still pregnant with her child with Patrick Garcia. “Matagal na kaming magkaibigan. I will say na she’s one of the most beautiful actresses we have. High school pa lang yata crush ko na siya. Pero may girlfriend pa ako that time, may boyfriend din siya. She was pregnant na nung maging kami. That was the time kasi na madalas kaming nagkakasama. But to set the record straight, walang sulutang nangyari, kay Patrick man o kung kanino. After pa ni Patrick naging kami.”

Drei was heartbroken when Jennilyn broke up with him and later moved on to Dennis Trillo. Nevertheless, Drei believes that their affections for each other was mutual. He even admitted that Jennilyn chose to name her son after him. “Alex John ang name nung bata. Ang name ko is Alexander Felix II. Alexander talaga ang gusto niyang ipangalang dun sa bata. Ako na nagsabi na Alex na lang kasi ‘yung Alexander name talaga ng lolo ko, second lang ako. The name isn’t mine to give. Pero kung gusto niya ‘yung name na ‘yun e di sige. So I guess minahal din niya ako.”

Given the circumstances surrounding their split, Drei said that it would be difficult for him to take Jennilyn back should there be a possible reconciliation. He added that he is also not ready to jump to a new relationship any time soon. “May mga nagiging crush ako pero ayoko na muna talaga. Focus muna ako sa work. I told Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) and Ms. Mariole (Alberto of Star Magic) na kung anong project ang ibigay nila sa akin gagawin ko na lang.”

Drei became known to many as one of the VJs of MYX music channel until his stint ended last year. “Kung ako lang gusto ko pa rin but they explained to me naman na they want to have younger set of VJs, like sina Robi (Domingo), Nel (Gomez), Janine (Ramirez), Chino (Lui Pio). Hindi muna siguro ako mag-VJ uli. Ngayonpuro hosting lang ng ilang events.”

Looking on the bright side, Drei said that maybe now at least, he can also try other fields particularly acting. He last appeared in Precious Hearts Romances presents Love is Only in the Movies starring Zanjoe Marudo and Mariel Rodriguez. “I’ve been talking to Star Magic people and they said may plans naman sila for me. They asked me kung ano ang gusto kong gawin, kumanta o sumayaw sa ASAP. Sabi ko, ‘Mr. M kayo na po ang bahala.’ Kung saan sa tingin nila bagay ako and I’ll see kung saan ako maging comfortable.”
