Mariel Rodriguez said that she couldn’t help but admire her Entertainment Live co-host Toni Gonzaga who is more reserved compared to her. “Kung gaano ako kadaldal, si Toni ang opposite ko. ‘Pag may bago siyang movie, mahihiya pa ‘yan magsabi na papunta siya ng shooting kapag tatanungin mo siya kung saan lakad niya. Eh ako nga, story con pa lang ng Cinco, proud na proud ako to say na, ‘This is it! Meron akong bagong project!’ Yung ganon.”
Mariel further shared that Toni Gonzaga even had hesitations before showing her newly customized van on Showbiz News Ngayon last week. “Sabi ko, ‘My God, super fab ngkotse mo’! Lahat ng nag-text sa akin about it, finorward ko sa kanya. Alam ni’yo naman ako maraming ka-chika. Biglang sabi niya sa akin, ‘Parang ang yabang ko...’ Super nahihiya siya. Kunwari mayroon siyang pictorial, hindi ’yan masyado mag-elaborate. Pero kung ako yun, sasabihin ko talaga na I have a new endorsement. Hindi naman sa nagyayabang ako. Kumbaga I’m just happy to share it with the world. Ang tagal-tagal ko na ngang pinipilit ‘yan na gumawa ng Twitter account pero ayaw niya talaga because she’s really a private person,” she cheerfully explained.
Everyone knows by now that Mariel has a crush on action star Robin Padilla and she’s really envious of Toni now that the latter will continue shooting her movie with the action star. “Uy, I love Direk Paul (Soriano, Toni’s boyfriend) ha. Pero napag-usapan nga namin recently na, ‘Toni, my God, what if ligawan ka ni Robin Padilla?’ Tapos sasasabihin niya, ‘Hindi, hindi ako gusto nun!’ ‘Bata’ daw kasi ang tawag sa kanya. So yun, kaya ko nasabi na si Toni ang pinaka-humble na tao sa mundo. I guess, that’s why we’re really close friends kasi iba-iba kami ng personality including Bianca (Gonzalez),” she beamed.
