Although Luis Manzano can be really funny on and off cam, he’s really serious about his hosting stint in Wowowee, even asking fans to pray for the show before he comes to work. He could not help but be moved by the real life stories that the contestants/studio audience share each day. “It’s a very fulfilling job, iba yung tama niya sa puso. So as much as possible habang nandun ako, gusto ko rin ibigay yung best ko and kahit papa’no marami kaming mapasaya not just within the confines of the studio pero pati yung nanood sa kani-kanilang bahay bahay,” he told ABS-CBN.com in an interview last June 15.
Despite the controversies surrounding the show and the constant demand for it to remain on top of the TV ratings, the talented actor-host refused to be affected by things that he can’t control. “Yung pressure is more of sa akin lang talaga. Ayokong isipin yung pressure sa mga nangyayari. I just want to do my job well. Basically, you wake up each day, alam mo kung anong kailangan mo gawin, so gusto ko lang ibigay yung makakaya ko,” said Luis who has been co-hosting Wowowee since May 29. When asked how long is he staying as a guest host, he simply replied, “Kung ano po ang ibinibigay sa akin ng management ini-enjoy ko na lang ng sobra-sobra. I take it as one big blessing. Basta abangan ni’yo na lang.”
Given a chance to permanently host Wowowee or a new noontime show that might replace it, hypothetically speaking, would he accept such an offer?
