Recently, Gretchen Barretto was caught in a rift with Angelica Panganiban, her Magkaribal leading man Derek Ramsay's girlfriend because of their heated comments on Twitter. Even though the press insisted to get Gretchen's statement regarding the issue, she kept mum so as not to aggravate the situation.Though Derek was not present in Magkaribal's press conference held last night, June 17, Gretchen shared that she and Derek got to chat before the latter left for his South Africa trip. "Nag-shoot kami bago siya umalis, e. (I told him), 'I promise I will not talk about you when you are not here." She did not even ask for a "pasalubong". "Wala, hindi ako mahilig humingi ng kung anu-ano."She defended herself to the press by justifying her playful personality with which she has been known for in the showbiz industry ever since. "I'd rather not talk about it kasi alam mo minsan kasi, alam mo naman 'pag sa set, 'di ba lahat tayo nage-enjoy lang tsaka ako yung humor ko kakaiba talaga at sumasagot ako sa isang tanong na just to please the people na kausap ko at dahil ganun (talaga) ako, naughty. Pero wala naman talaga ako ibig sabihin. Meron siyempre ako nasasaktan na hindi naman dapat talaga," Gretchen explained."Parati naman akong nagbibiro, para namang hindi (niyo) ako kilala. Ilang years na ako sa showbiz, sa dami ng tinatanong minsan nilalaro-laro ko na lang yung mga sagot (kasi) siyempre napapagod din ako."Gretchen did not fail to express her regret and admitted that she is aware of the repercussions of her playful words. She then told the press that she might be "less-exciting" from now on. "Of course, I have to apologize for being playful kaya ngayon mas guided ako, kaya hindi na ako masyadong exciting, boring na ako bahala kayo kasi kayo rin ang nagpapalaki ng mga sinasabi ko. Kaya good girl na ako, ayan bored na kayo." She put an end to the issue by saying, "Huwag na natin palakihin, wala naman sila dito. Let's just let them enjoy (their vacation.)"
