Cesar Montano said in a recent interview that he was tapped by ABS-CBN to co-host noontime show Wowowee for two weeks, but added that there are no specific details yet as to when he will start. “Ang in-offer lang nila sa akin is just two weeks to host. That's the only thing I heard. But I think I have to hear pa ‘yung development kung kailan ako papalit or what,” said the multi-awarded actor.
However, he avoided the subject of the possibility of becoming permanent Wowowee host since there is no word yet if Willie Revillame would return to the show or leave it for good. “I cannot confirm. It’s so premature I cannot give certain details or absolute details regarding that. Until now wala pa akong natatanggap.” Nonetheless, Cesar said that he is open to the idea if he was offered the job, but it all depends on the agreement between him and the big bosses of ABS-CBN.
“Kasi kailangan ko ring malaman kung aalis ba talaga si Willie. Those things I have to know para pag-isipan ‘yon.” The actor added that he is not sure if The Singing Bee—the music game show he previously hosted—will return.
Asked if he would choose to become the permanent host of Wowowee over The Singing Bee, the singer-host replied, “I can't discuss. Mahirap kasi parehong malapit sa akin. Ang Singing Bee close to my heart, ang Wowowee it's another challenge to fulfill. Siguro kapag nakita ko na kung gaano kaganda ang offer at avenue.”
