Robin Padilla on Mariel Rodriguez: ‘Gusto ko siya’

ABS-CBN.com caught up with Robin Padilla after the May 18 episode of Wowowee and he told us how much he really enjoys interacting with the audience and the contestants of the show. “Siyempre gustong-gusto ko ‘yan. Kasi ako naman kahit saan ako mapunta okay ako sa mga tao. Kung baga hindi ko naman mararating yung narating ko ngayon kung hindi rin dahil sa kanila.” He was also very grateful to his Wowowee colleagues who went out of their way to help him adjust to being a guest host. “Alam nila na ginagawa ko lahat. Sana po yung panandali kong nandito, e dagdagan na lang po natin ng suporta pa para mas maging masaya pa tayo. Ang importante masaya tayo. ‘Wag na muna tayong magkontrahan. Namnamin po muna natin yung mga sandali na tayo po’y magkakasama,” said the dashing action star who is aware of the controversies surrounding Willie Revillame’s sudden leave of absence.

On a lighter note though, a lot of people were saying that Robin and his co-host Mariel Rodriguez really looked good together onscreen. When asked about their undeniable chemistry, the self-confessed ladies man openly admitted that he has a huge crush on her. “Gusto ko siya,” he exclaimed, much to the surprise of those who were listening to our interview including his good friend Dennis Padilla. “Pareho sila ni Toni (Gonzaga) na matalino at ang ganda ng mata niya.”

Between the two girls, Robin claimed that he’d rather choose Mariel because Toni already has a boyfriend. Apparently, he wasn’t aware that the former is in a relationship as well. “Aba, bakit naman hindi pwedeng pareho? Bawal ba ang dalawa? Kaya lang si Toni may boyfriend. Yun nga agad ang tinanong ko kay Mariel e. ‘Ikaw ba may boyfriend?’ E tumahik [nung tinanong ko].” So when ABS-CBN.com informed him that Mariel’s boyfriend is Zanjoe Marudo, he quickly took back what he said about being attracted to the bubbly host-actress. “May boyfriend na ba yun? Ayoko na. Kung may boyfriend na si Mariel kalimutan na natin lahat ng sinabi ko kasi sa lahat ng ayaw natin ay yung may boyfriend na.”
