Maja Salvador: ‘Kung ano’ng role i-offer sa akin, ayokong tumanggi’

Maja Salvador has remained humble even if she’s one of today’s most promising young actresses. But the star said that she does not mind doing supporting roles, just as long it means that she is able to work. “Kung anong i-offer sa akin, ayokong tumanggi. Lumalapit sa ‘yo yung blessings, tapos tatanggihan mo?” she reasoned out. “Ang importante lang sa akin ‘yung may trabaho at makapag-ipon. Ang pangit naman na tatanggi ako kung may ibibigay sa ‘yong project. So, ako talaga kung anuman ‘yung dumating na project, bida ka o supporting [role].”

After first being known as a dancer, Maja has grown as an actress, earning critic and fan approval along the way. She also refuses to give in to rivalry. “Wala akong balak makipag-compete sa ibang artists. ‘Yung talent ko lang talaga ang pinapakita ko at napapansin ng tao sobrang happy ako, at least nakikilala ako.”

Maja is now working on her next project with Geoff Eigenmann as her leading man. The two have been good friends even before and Maja is delighted to work with the young actor. As she described it: "Matagal ko nang kakilala ni Geoff. Close talaga kami. Kahit anong scene na gawin sobrang komportable, walang hiya-hiya, walang ilangan." Maja's onscreen partnerships have all been successful but she never had a single consistent partner since she started in the biz. She hopes that she has finally found the perfect combination with Geoff.
