Lara Quigaman on Willie’s threat: It’s quite off

MANILA, Philippines- Precious Lara Quigaman will show a different side to her personality by portraying a kontrabida for the first time in “Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor.”

Although she had initial reservations about accepting the role, the former beauty-queen-turned-actress shared that she saw this as a chance to explore her acting skills.

“I need to be flexible. Kailangan makita ko ‘yong kakayanan ko bilang artista, kung hanggang saan [ang kaya ko],” she explained.

ABS-CBN.com also asked Quigaman to comment on the much talked about rift between “Wowowee” host Willie Revillame and television host and print columnist Jobert Sucaldito.

The actress said she caught Revillame’s statement on TV, but did not hear Sucaldito’s remarks on his radio program where he supposedly lashed out at Revillame for getting “dumb” people to be part of the show’s contestants.

“Unang-una, I think it’s his (Willie) right to say what he wants because it’s his show. As long as wala naman talaga siyang naaapakan nang sobra-sobrang masama,” she said.

However, the former “Wowowee “co-host said she does not agree with Revillame’s threat to resign if ABS-CBN management would not fire Sucaldito.

She said: “What Kuya Willie did, I think was quite off. For him to threaten to resign if they don’t take him (Jobert) out kasi parang he can do that to anyone pala. If someone offends him, ‘O, tanggalin na ‘yan…’ That easy, ‘di ba? So it’s quite off.”

Quigaman quickly added that she understands Revillame’s outburst because he could have been carried away by strong emotions.

“Sa tingin ko naman nabigla lang siya dahil upset siya pero it can happen to anyone. Pero I think na parehas na may mali. Kaya nabigla siya,” she said.

Quigaman was removed from "Wowowee" allegedly upon orders of Revillame. The actress reportedly irked Revillame after she brought her boyfriend to a “Wowowee” show in Hawaii without telling him first.

Recently, Vhong Navarro confirmed to ABS-CBN.com that he was supposed to temporarily replace Revillame, who was then on leave, on “Wowowee.” But Revillame pulled Navarro out at the last minute because the "Wowowee" main host was not informed about it. -Report by Bernie Franco, ABS-CBN.com
