Tibo Jumalon is thankful to be part of ‘Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo’

After finishing as the Fifth Big Placer in Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, Steve “Tibo” Jumalon never expected that he would instantly be given showbiz projects. That’s why it came as a big surprise to him when he learned that he will be given a small role in the teleserye Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo. It took him a while though to feel comfortable coming to the set. “Nahihiya ako kasi hindi ako dumaan sa workshop. Biglaan akong isinalang. Siguro nung second day ng taping ko lang nakilala halos lahat ng tao sa production.”

Tibo plays Roy Corpuz, a fellow investigator of Gabby Concepcion and Gerald Anderson. The ex-housemate related how he found Gabby and Gerald very approachable during tapings. “Sobrang bait nina Gabby at Gerald. Very approachable talaga sila. Ngayon nagpapasalamat ako sa ABS-CBN at sa lahat sa Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo kasi isinama nila ako.”

The 35-year old from Cagayan De Oro is also excited because his character in the drama is very similar to his real life as a security agent, and in the coming episodes of Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, he will get to shoot a few action scenes. “Mas makaka-relate siguro ako sa role ko kung masali na ako sa operation. Sa ngayon kasi ang istorya ko sa opisina pa lang, nagbibigay ng report. Pero enjoy naman ‘yung role ko dun.”

Tibo is a husband and a father of three. He planned to use the prize he got from PBB to start a small business to support his family. Tibo shared that his family is very happy with the celebrity status he has achieved because of PBB. “Happy naman ang asawa at mga anak ko sa akin. Dati walang nakakakilala sa akin, ngayon halos lahat tinatawag na akong, ‘Papa Tibs!’ Very supportive ang family ko sa ginagawa ko ngayon.”

However, Tibo is still getting used to the idea of fans asking for his pictures and autographs. Nevertheless, he just considers this as an opportunity for him to thank everyone who supported him in PBB. “Iba na talaga ngayon. Dati nae-enjoy mo ‘yung privacy mo pero ngayon hindi na masyado. Pero okay lang naman. Dapat din naming i-entertain ‘yung mga tao kasi sila talaga ‘yung sumuporta sa amin sa PBB. Utang namin sa kanila kung nasaan kami ngayon.”
