Maja Salvador feels privileged about being friends with KC Concepcion

A few weeks after she made a guest appearance in the “KC Exclusives” segment of The Buzz, Maja Salvador told ABS-CBN.com that she’s already using the makeup kit that KC Concepcion gave her at the time. It really came in handy especially when she goes out of town for tapings. “Yes, nilagay ko na yung mga makeup ko dun. Pero siyempre ‘pag ASAP hindi ko mailagay kasi may dressing room naman.” The young actress also felt flattered, knowing that she’s the only one who received such special treatment in KC’s The Buzz segment. “Siyempre baby girl ako nun ni Ate KC. Parang ang swerte ko kasi sa lahat, ang dami naming artista na gusto niya, pero sobrang naramdaman ko na importante ako talaga ako sa kanya.”

When asked how they have become close friends, Maja shared that it was KC who really initiated a conversation with her years ago. “Kasi parang yung first time na mag-aartista na siya, sakto na kaming dalawa yung nakakapag-usap sa isang party para kay Ma’am Charo (Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN President). Tapos sinabi niya sa akin nu’n na, ‘I like you’ ganyan.Tapos biglang nag-tsikahan na kami. Tapos siya pa yung humingi ng cellphone number ko sa ibang tao. Tinext na lang niya ako na, ‘Hi Maja, this is your Ate KC.” And from then on, they constantly kept in touch no matter how busy the other was. “Sabi ko nga mag-Blackberry na siya, kasi sa text lang kami usually nakakapag-usap ngayon.”

The fact that they both didn’t see their respective fathers while they were growing up was something that further strengthened their bond. “Kung napanood ni’yo yung The Buzz, grabe yung mga advice na binigay niya sa akin, na maging thankful parati... Tsaka parehas kami na walang angst, walang sama ng loob sa tatay namin.” But if there’s any advice that she would like to give KC in return, what would it be? “Kasi yung pagkakaiba namin si Sir Gabby (Concepcion) nand’yan pa, yung father ko wala na. Si Ate KC naman kasi alam niya kung anong kailangan niya gawin. Nakikita naman natin kung gaano niya kamahal yung papa niya. So ipagpatuloy lang niya yung pagmamahal niya sa parents niya.”

Maja also revealed that she and KC also talk about each other’s love lives. “Actually, si Piolo (Pascual) lang pinag-uusapan namin. Lagi kong sinasabi sa kanya na paghahatian namin si Piolo. Sabi naman niya sa akin, ‘Sige baby, ikaw sa left, ako sa right,’ ganon kami magkulitan,” she added with a laugh.
